Trends

Trending subway colours: greys, whites, teal, aqua and black, with glossy whites and off-whites returning; trending types are geometric glaze, 3D, metallic and fluted.

Concept styles: geometric (Scandinavian, minimal), floral (suits Indian homes and ages well), abstract jewel-tone (wallpaper look, stronger with coloured grout), mosaic-grid (2x1 panels with faux grout lines), metallic, and embossed (3D).

Bleach-wood finish is a distressed, chipped, worn-paint wood look in many tones (greys, blues, teal, pine); suits vintage, boho, cottage, Airbnb and restaurant styles.

Indian parking-tile preferences are two camps: minimal neutral and earthy tones, or rustic washed-out, stone-finish looks.

Most requested subway layouts: herringbone, stack bond (vertical, minimal and very current with designers), basket weave and classic brick.

Popular kitchen floor colour pairings: off-white or white with terracotta and indigo, olive with cream, grey with white, black; aqua is trending.

Brick tile colours trending for 2026: deep red/rust for TV and balcony walls, grey and white for compact kitchens and entrances, brown/sand with wood, charcoal for bold corners.

Timeless floors: marble-look, wood-look, limestone, travertine, terrazzo or plain neutrals in beige, ivory, greige, soft grey, warm wood tones with subtle veining.

Marble-look in vitrified or porcelain avoids the sealing and upkeep of real marble while adding strength and colour options.

Mix textures but keep one colour family, e.g. beige matt bathroom floor with cream glossy walls; limit patterned mosaics and Moroccan tiles to feature walls and balance with neutrals.

Terracotta tiles regulate indoor temperature, useful in hot areas; when choosing patterned tiles prioritise strength and maintenance over looks.

Exterior brick cladding should be vitrified or porcelain weather-resistant tiles; 2026 trend favours darker slate, charcoal brown and aged red with black window frames.

Textured/relief vitrified tiles on TV backdrops, entrance walls and basin panels; check wall vs floor suitability and cleaning since relief tiles may not suit foot traffic.

Do not mix several unrelated heritage patterns in compact rooms; pair detailed tile with plain surroundings and one shared colour.

Marble-look vitrified bathroom tiles resist moisture far better than real marble, which stains in Indian bathrooms; the 2026 shift is from high gloss to matt or satin.

Rustic tiles gain a better shine as they age.

Muted, faded, neomorphic-style glossy tropical tiles suit minimal and Scandinavian spaces that want a subtle tropical hint; easy to clean.
