FAQs
What Does Tectonic Grey Look Like?
Tectonic Grey has a mid-grey base crossed by sweeping pale veins and layered linear markings. The directional pattern creates visual movement similar to folded or stratified stone, while the matt finish limits strong reflections. Its neutral grey palette can coordinate with white, charcoal, black fittings, pale timber, concrete-inspired surfaces, and muted metallic details.
Is Tectonic Grey Made From Natural Stone?
No. Tectonic Grey is a ceramic tile with a manufactured stone-inspired design; it is not natural stone, marble, or slate. The flowing veins and tonal layers form part of its decorative surface. Select it according to its stated ceramic specifications, wall-only application, finish, installation requirements, and the conditions of the intended interior area.
Where Can Tectonic Grey Be Used?
Tectonic Grey is intended for indoor wall applications such as living-area features, kitchen backsplashes, vanity surrounds, and selected bathroom walls. Final suitability depends on moisture exposure, substrate condition, installation system, and local requirements. A qualified installer should specify appropriate preparation, adhesive, grout, waterproofing, movement joints, sealant, edge treatment, and pattern alignment.
Can Tectonic Grey Be Installed On Floors?
No. Tectonic Grey is specified for wall use only and must not be installed as flooring. Its ceramic body and matt finish do not establish floor wear performance, slip resistance, or suitability for foot traffic. Choose a properly rated floor tile for walking surfaces and confirm its specifications against expected traffic, moisture, and cleaning conditions.
Is Tectonic Grey Suitable For Bathroom Walls?
It may suit selected bathroom walls when installed within an appropriately specified system. The ceramic body and matt finish do not make the completed wall assembly waterproof. Confirm the substrate, waterproofing or tanking, adhesive, grout, sealant, penetrations, movement joints, and ventilation. Do not assume suitability for pools, steam rooms, or continuously submerged areas.
What Size And Pack Coverage Does It Provide?
Each Tectonic Grey tile has a nominal size of 300x600mm, equal to 0.18 sq m before joint allowances. A package contains 6 pieces and provides approximately 1.08 sq m of nominal coverage. Allow extra material for cuts, breakage, directional layout, pattern planning, and future repairs, then confirm the installer’s wastage allowance before ordering.
How Should Tectonic Grey Tiles Be Maintained?
Clean Tectonic Grey with a soft cloth or non-abrasive pad and a mild cleaner suitable for ceramic surfaces. Remove splashes and residues promptly, rinse as directed, and dry the wall where appropriate. Avoid harsh acids, abrasive powders, metal pads, and unverified chemicals. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for the tile, grout, sealant, and adjoining materials.

9 Kitchen Dado Tile Ideas That Make Plain Cabinets Look More PremiumQ: What tile size for bathrooms? A: Larger wall tiles (300x450, 300x600) look open and modern; smaller or medium anti-skid floor tiles help grip and drainage, and shower floors may need smaller tiles for slope.
A Complete Guide to Tile Sizes for Every Room of Your HouseQ: What backsplash works with white cabinets? A: A similar light shade gives a coordinated look; beige, grey or a stronger colour adds contrast. Check the countertop's colour and undertone too.
Kitchen Tiles: Should Your Backsplash Match the Countertop or Cabinets?Q: How to choose a backsplash for grey cabinets? A: Identify if the grey is warm or cool; white/off-white contrasts, related greys give a tonal look. Compare cabinet, countertop and tile samples together.
Kitchen Tiles: Should Your Backsplash Match the Countertop or Cabinets?Q: Can I use floor tiles for a bathroom backsplash? A: Yes, floor tiles are durable and water-resistant, so they suit backsplash areas exposed to splashes and soap.
Types of Bathroom Tiles to Create a Statement BacksplashQ: Which colour combinations suit Indian bathrooms? A: Warm beige with brown, white with sage green, grey with blue, and ivory with terracotta; consider natural light, sanitaryware colour and hard-water marks.
