FAQs

What Does Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Look Like?

Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate combines angular stone-like sections in light grey, charcoal, taupe, beige, and muted brown. Pale joint-like areas define the irregular layout, while varied markings create a layered quartzite-and-slate impression. Its matt finish reduces glare. Since screens and batches may differ, view a physical sample when exact color, texture, or pattern balance matters.

Is Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Made From Natural Stone?

No. Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate is a ceramic tile with a decorative surface designed to suggest irregular quartzite and slate pieces. It is not quarried stone, and the visible sections are not installed individually. This distinction affects expectations for variation, thickness, joints, sealing, and maintenance, so assess a sample and follow the tile manufacturer’s instructions.

Can Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Be Used On Floors?

No. Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate is specified for wall use only and must not be installed as flooring. Its elevation-tile designation does not confirm suitability for foot traffic, impact, slip resistance, or floor loads. Choose a separately documented floor-rated product for walking surfaces, steps, or landings, even when a coordinated stone-style finish is required within the same project.

Where Can Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Be Used Indoors?

Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate can be considered for indoor feature walls, entrance accents, living-room panels, dining areas, reception walls, and selected commercial interiors. Confirm suitability where surfaces face frequent splashes, heat, staining, or impact, and use compatible fixing materials. As a wall-only tile, it should not continue onto floors, stair treads, landings, or other walking surfaces.

Can Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Be Used Outdoors?

The stone-like appearance and ceramic body do not independently establish exterior suitability. Before outdoor installation, confirm that Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate has a documented rating for local weather, moisture, temperature movement, and freeze-thaw exposure where applicable. The installer should also specify the substrate, waterproofing, adhesive, grout, movement joints, edge protection, installation height, and ongoing maintenance requirements.

What Size And Coverage Does Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Provide?

Each Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate tile measures 300x600mm, giving a nominal face area of 0.18 sq m. Four tiles are supplied per pack, providing approximately 0.72 sq m of nominal coverage before waste. Calculate the finished wall area and allow extra material for cuts, breakage, pattern alignment, edge detailing, and future repairs when deciding how many packs to order.

How Should Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate Be Maintained?

Remove surface dust with a soft brush or dry cloth, then clean Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate using water and a mild, tile-compatible cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads, aggressive chemicals, and tools that could mark the matt surface or grout. Rinse away cleaner residue and inspect joints, edges, and sealant periodically, especially in splash-prone areas or approved exterior installations.

MyTyles product details

Description

Grey Irregular Quartzite Slate recreates an informal stone arrangement through angular sections in light grey, charcoal, taupe, beige, and muted brown. Pale joint-like areas separate the varied shapes, while textured-looking details and tonal variation strengthen the layered quartzite and slate character. The matt finish limits strong reflections. Made from ceramic, Code40867 measures 300x600mm and is intended for wall installation only. Its quartzite-slate appearance is a decorative surface effect rather than genuine stone or individually installed pieces. Review a physical sample to assess the actual color, relief, joint effect, and pattern repetition before ordering. Each pack contains four tiles and provides approximately 0.72 sq m of nominal coverage before cuts, breakage, and alignment allowance. Install over a flat, stable substrate using compatible adhesive and grout. Do not install this product as flooring. For exterior elevations, verify the documented weather rating and site-specific fixing requirements before purchase.
